The Barn
We were super-hosts for 5.5 years, so we know great hospitality and have stayed in many great vacation rentals over the years. But Susan’s place was one of the best we’ve ever seen!! The decor and architecture were superb: authentic, original, high quality, and very, very comfortable. She really didn’t miss a thing and I’m so glad we found the Urban Barn. Jane
Stay here! If you have to live on ramen noodles for a month to justify it, then do it. The reviews for the barn were exemplary and for good reason - there is nothing to fault with it in any way. We travelled with two children (5 & 2yrs) and had no issues with any amenities. Might also help that there's a cracking ice creamery 50m away from the barn... Without question, one of the best places we've stayed on planet earth. Regardless of expectations - and ours were high - they will be exceeded. Clayton & family
What an absolutely lovely place to stay! The Urban Barn felt luxurious and cozy at the same time. Easily the nicest vacation spot I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect, I walked a block to hit up all of the Clinton /Division street restaurants and only a block more for groceries at New Seasons. The design and decor inspired me for future remodel projects at my own home! I'll definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful outdoor patio as well. The Urban Barn was the perfect spot for a long weekend of PDX adventures! Such a stylish, impeccably clean & cozy home in the best location. We loved being able to walk to some of our favorite spots in town (Pok Pok, Fifty Licks & Yama Sushi, to name a few) with others being only a short drive or Uber away. Susan was incredibly kind, helpful & so very welcoming. It’s easy to see how much pride she takes in being a host, it shows in all the thoughtful details & creature comforts throughout the space! I loved calling this place home for a few days - will definitely be back! Molly
We were blown away because it was everything the photos showed.....and more. The design and comfort were impeccable. Each bed was super comfortable and the amenities are top notch. We especially loved the details in the kitchen - everything one needs to cook a feast. We will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the private yard. The thing that made it ideal was the location - right in the middle of foodie heaven. We loved Bar Avignon, Nuestra Cocina, Jacqueline and Burrasca, all within 3 blocks . David & Joe
What a warm and lovely vacation home. I loved the powered skylight over the bed that allowed us to sleep in a little more. I wanted to cook while staying in and the kitchen had everything I needed. Absolutely everything! Susan greeted me when I arrived and made the check-in process easy. Looking forward to my next Portland visit! Rachel
This Barn is absolutely amazing. The interior is filled with natural light and beautiful decor. The best part about it is the location.....after a long day exploring the city it was so nice to walk 1 block to a few great restaurants. We will be back soon! Mike
The Cottage
The Eco Cottage was every bit as awesome as described. It's extremely private, well set up and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the radiant heating that kept the floors warm, and the powered skylight over the bed that allowed us to sleep in a little more. Susan greeted me when I arrived and made the check-in process easy. Looking forward to my next Portland visit! Kathy
We stayed here for three nights during our Pacific Northwest honeymoon and it was our favorite leg of the trip! The cottage was so clean, cute, and well appointed. The location also can't be beat. We hope to stay again! Katie

A great place to stay in a great part of town. The cottage was everything we hoped it would be, the listing is spot on and it was the perfect base from which to explore all that Portland has to offer. Susan’s cottage is the absolute best place to stay in Portland. This is my second time staying here and it was just as magical as the first. Close to everything but quiet and tucked away. Can’t wait to come back! Matthew
